The positioners in the SLC series are available in different width and height. They are very rigid and therefore ideally suited for micro- and nanopositioning systems where stability and high accuracy have first priority. All theses positioners are available in non-magnetic materials as well as for vacuum environments down to 10-11 mbar.
Despite their small size, a position sensor for micro- and nanopositioning tasks can be optionally integrated into each positioner without affecting the positioner’s outer dimensions. Due to this high integration the SLC-1720-S is the smallest available closed-loop nanopositioner with macroscopic travel range.
All of the SLC series have a blocking force FB of > 3.5 N, a max. normal force FN of 30 N, a maximal lift force FL of > 1.5 N and a velocity of > 20 mm/s in common.
The positioners in the SLC-17 series are 17 mm wide and 8.5 mm high each. Optionally, a position sensor for close-loop micro- and nanopositioning tasks can be integrated.
The positioners in the SLC-24 series are 24 mm wide and 10.5 mm high each. Optionally, a position sensor for closed loop micro- and nanopositioning tasks can be integrated without affecting the positioner’s outer dimension.
Different combinations of SmarAct positioners can be used as optical fibre characterization and alignment system. The shown combination is an easy setup of 3D and 1D translation stages, based on our SLC-24 series positioners.
The fiber holders are connected to the 3D positioners and a wave guide measurement system can be set to the 1D positioner. In combination with a constant force spring, the 3D positioners are capable to lift payloads up to 400 g.
All of the used axes are equipped with a nanosensor, enabling a resolution of 1 nm and a repeatability of positioning of about 45 nm with a maximum speed of 20 mm/s.
