The SHL series linear positioners are specifically designed for handling heavy loads. The mechanical design is based on an actuated wedge that guarantees high motion resolution. A separate guideway ensures straight-line motion along the load direction and allows the integration of a position sensor for direct position feedback and closed-loop operation. Positioners designed for pure vertical motion to lift components or equipment can be equipped with an additional constant force spring to increase the payload even further. Accordingly, nano-encoded high load stages capable of lifting up to 10 kilograms over several millimeters are possible, as well as multi-axis systems based on SHL series stages, which offer high blocking forces in all three dimensions.
Despite the high payloads, the SmarAct SHL series positioners remain very compact and are also suitable for very compact setups.
